‘’A celebration of the body I never wanted to have’’ This work is made for my fellow hardcore softies
After the ‘Anarchving’ and ‘Sound on bodies’ research, REYER in Afterglowing is researching the movement appearing from falsified memories, disguised as ‘blurred underexposed images’, to collect idiosyncratic dance-proposals from the edges of those memories, and enable a spectrum of intensities, that follow the momentum of centrifugal forces from past events. Jumping on the archived rhizome of REYER, traces of a club-kid, gymnast and chemical mis-user arise in different forms on the body and critically question the rejected elements in those traces, inviting shame to transform into a fishing rod to rebalance future potentialities. Philosophizing about fireworks, REYER hopes to launch into ghostlike icons of the subject before Afterglowing, proposing a bodily ritual/methodology and applaud the closure of estrangement and initiate reversement of the skin through technological devices, that act as visual extension of the organs, in order to fly away from an overstimulating world.
This work uses DIY objects as main protagonists (a phone tied to a hand, and a laptop on feet and face)
